Social Enterprise London, supported by the City Bridge Trust, are offering an innovative support programme to managers and leaders in the voluntary sector, designed to provide them with the skills that will help their organisations to excel.
At a time of change in the way the sector operates, many voluntary organisations recognise the need to make a management step-change to survive mounting competition and demands. Few, however, have access to the mechanisms that could help. It is here that carefully targeted, high quality support makes the difference between standing still and making positive advances.
London Advance offers thirty voluntary organisations within the London boroughs the opportunity to participate in an intensive, free of charge programme that can help them to flourish. Social Enterprise London offers its expertise in ways of increasing sustainability and commerciality, in a bid to meet the needs of organisations keen to make a change. The London Advance programme will begin in Autumn 07. Smaller organisations and those organisations with a specialist focus on the needs of either BAME, disabled, refugee or women's communities are particularly encouraged to apply, though the programme is open to all voluntary organisations. Participant organisations must be based in the London boroughs, and travel costs within the Greater London area will be reimbursed. In addition, participants will gain a year’s membership of the London Social Enterprise Network, with the benefits it brings.
