Balanced Scorecard Training for Social Enterprises

As part of the Social Enterprise Partnership’s quality and impact measurement programme, SEL lead, supported by the London Development Agency, on the development of the social enterprise balanced scorecard.

The Social Enterprise Balanced Scorecard is a mechanism used to track both quantitative and qualitative data simultaneously – giving an organisation a means to to measure and communicate their social impacts.

Initial piloting took place in 2004 and proved to be successful with part of the research conducted through a training programme resulting in a paper entitled Shaping the balanced scorecard for use in the UK Social Enterprises.

For organisation interested in learning more about the balanced scorecard for social enterprises please contact Sabina@sel.org.uk

Taking forward some of the learning from the balanced scorecard, in December 2005 SEL developed the Performance Measurement Tool (PMT) which provides organisations with a resource to analyse data to help them make decisions, track and review progress and set performance targets.
