International Consultancy

All the international cities SEL has worked with in the last 3 years
The challenges of poverty and a compromised environment are felt worldwide, which makes social enterprise and the solutions it offers part of a global movement. Like the business model we believe in so passionately, SEL works everywhere. We offer bespoke consultancy to international organisations, working in collaboration to implement innovative, long-term solutions to social challenges. International delegations are invited to attend our training programmes in the UK and we have a strong track record of running training courses in host countries.
We know that we don’t have all the answers and welcome the opportunity to be inspired by the wonderful work that is happening in every part of the globe, but we do believe in the power of collaboration and welcome the opportunity to enable others to learn from our experience.
In the last year, we have worked with the British Council to deliver programmes in Vietnam, Georgia and Croatia; the team has also provided consultancy to groups from Sweden, Denmark, Japan and Eastern Europe; and CEO Allison Ogden-Newton has also delivered keynote conference speeches in Japan and Korea.
A typical example of SEL’s consultancy would be our role in the Social Entrepreneurship programme launched by the British Council Vietnam in collaboration with the Centre for Social Initiatives Promotion (CSIP) and other partners, including the One Foundation and KPMG Vietnam.
As part of this groundbreaking programme, SEL provided research and business solutions-based support, as well as delivering a training course recognised by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) for local training delivery partners, development officers, business advisors and university lecturers in January 2010.
Study visits to SEL and other UK social enterprises can be arranged on request. For information on working with us, contact Sabina Khan, sabina@sel.org.uk or call +44 (0)20 7033 2607.
