iceandfire: Project Manager (voluntary)

iceandfire creates compelling theatre exploring stories of displacement and conflict. We do this through high quality theatre production supported by creative education and innovative outreach projects. We believe that theatre has the unique power to make real and relevant the impact of human rights issues on our everyday lives.

In Spring 2009 iceandfire plan to ‘Cross the Border’ - an inspirational fundraising event, designed to raise awareness of iceandfire’s work and raise money to enable it to continue its work throughout 2009 and beyond. The ‘Border’ will be the first 18 miles of Offa’s Dyke - an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and one of Britain’s ancient conflict zones, running the historic divide between England and Wales.

iceandfire is a small organisation made up of four employees and a committed Board of Trustees. We are looking for a voluntary project manager to assist us in this exciting opportunity from April 2008, to manage the implementation of the event, culminating in the day long walk on Saturday 28th March 2009.

Supported by the company, the role of the volunteer will cover all aspects from communications and marketing to participant recruitment. We see ‘Crossing the Border’ as an integral part of iceandfire’s plans for the next 12 months -  raising the company’s profile and sustaining its important work.
