Ogden-Newton welcomes signing of Multi-Area Agreement by Olympic Host Boroughs
Social Enterprise London (SEL) Chief Executive Allison Ogden-Newton today welcomed the formal signing of the Multi-Area Agreement across the five Olympic Host Boroughs; Greenwich, Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest.
The MAA provides a shared commitment towards working across local authority boundaries on specific including increasing the number of jobs filled by local people, increasing training skills development and delivering increased affordable housing.
Allison Ogden-Newton said:
“The MAA will be crucial in enabling the Host Boroughs to deliver on the ambitious legacy targets for the Games. Fundamentally it provides a sound platform for them to harness the potential of our social enterprise movement in delivering on those targets.
The aims of the social enterprise movement and those of the Games are akin: both offer a vision of people working co-operatively, striving towards shared goals. They show us the potential embedded within ourselves and our communities. The MAA will enable the Host Boroughs to realise that vision.
The social enterprise movement in London welcomes it wholeheartedly.”
