Social Enterprise London and NESTA launch the Transition Institute

The Transition Institute is a new, independent centre for research formed to inspire and facilitate new models of public service delivery embedding innovation and social value in the structures.

The TI aims to be collaborative, innovative and catalytic – building the knowledge and research necessary to supporting a growing community of practitioners and partners committed to embedding innovation and social value into new models of public service delivery.

Social Enterprise London and NESTA have co-founded the Transition Institute. It is based upon conversations with passionate supporters of public services, shaped about the need for informed, impartial debate about new emerging structures.

Together we want the Transition Institute to provide the space and platform for these debates and to developing the understanding of how to maximise public and social value as organisations transition from the public sector to social economy.

Allison Ogden-Newton, CEO at Social Enterprise London comments:

“The Transition Institute is a platform for collaboration that will bring experts and interested parties together to raise the quality of debate and practice around new models of public service delivery.

The UK is ahead of the rest of the world in advancing the discussions around independently run public services, and first in setting up an Institute to study these new models and support those who want to get involved.

It’s a brave new era and we are thrilled to be working with NESTA to establish this groundbreaking Institute. Our collective ambition with our partners is to help give direction and establish common principles in order to support emerging leaders to deliver world class services which place innovation and social impact at the heart of what they do.”

Further information will be emerging on the TI website www.TransitionInstitute.org.uk
