National social enterprise photo competition launched - win a feature in the Big Issue
The Social Enterprise Coalition has this week launched the annual social enterprise photography competition.
This year, the competition is looking to reward the best amateur photographs that show how social enterprise is more than just business as usual. The winning photographs will capture how social enterprises are leading the way in sustainable, successful business that is transforming communities and lives every day.
Entries are being accepted across England until 19 October. Winners will be announced on 19 November, Social Enterprise Day - a national day to celebrate and promote social enterprise.
The competition is open to anyone who is inspired to promote and celebrate a social enterprise and recognition will be given to both the photographer and the social enterprise who is the subject of the photo. Each photo should be accompanied by a description of 200 words or less that explains why what is happening is ‘more than just business as usual.’
The competition is run by the Social Enterprise Coalition in partnership with the regional social enterprise networks across England with one winner from each of the nine regions going forward to compete for the national prize. The photos will be judged by the country’s Social Enterprise Ambassadors and a professional photographer and the London winner will be judged by the board of Social Enterprise London.
Prizes include a feature in the Big Issue Magazine, one of the best known social enterprises in the UK, two tickets to Voice10, the UK’s landmark conference for social enterprise, and a framed copy of your photo.
All entries should be emailed hi-res (no less than 2MB) to photocompetition@socialenterprise.org.uk. For a full list of rules and regulations see below or go and to http://tiny.cc/Y7EuH for more details and the photos from last year.
