To help build a case for social enterprise delivering 2012 contracts, SEL is conducting action research at two social enterprise test-sites to quantify the added value and impact of social enterprise. The selected organisations will receive consulting services over a two-year period to identify economic, social, and environmental impacts and collect evidence of these impacts. The organisations are expected to use evidence of their added value to strengthen their bids for Olympic contracts.
The data gathered will enable us to quantify impact, which may then be used to highlight the comparative strengths of social enterprise delivery models and build a robust business case for the sector participation in the supply chain.
In October 2007, SEL invited social enterprises nationally to apply to take part in this study. Two social enterprises have been selected and will be announced in early December.
