Policy and Research
SEL has an outstanding reputation for producing influential, robust policy and research work.
Working with our thriving network of social enterprises in London and partners from across the globe, SEL ensures that our advocacy and lobbying are driven by what our members and partners need.
Using a blend of in-depth interviews, online questionnaires and policy workshops, we gather robust evidence to bolster our policy work with ministers, central and local governments. Our work is regularly featured in national media including the BBC, Guardian and Telegraph as well as in specialist trade press including Third Sector, Social Enterprise Magazine and Civil Society.
SEL has developed particular expertise around a variety of policy themes including public-service reform, employment and welfare-to-work, the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, schools and health.
We are also continuously developing innovative research projects around impact measurement as well as launching the Social Enterprise Journal and an emerging centre of excellence around new models of public service delivery.
In promoting best practice, we have been able to showcase London’s social enterprises to an international audience including Croatia, South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Australia, China, Canada and the United States.
