Policy & Research

SEL has an international reputation for producing outstanding policy and research.

Using evidence from face to face consultations, surveys, and data emerging from our events and training programmes we ensure that what we are advocating is exactly what our members need to develop and grow.

SEL has developed particular specialisms around a variety of policy themes including the 2012 Games, women, schools, health and employment.

We are also continuously developing innovative research projects around impact measurement. In particular we led on a project with University of Brighton funded by SEEDA to develop an ILM accredited social impact assessment training programme called SIMPLE. Currently we are working with Capacitybuilders on developing a framework to help organisations make informed decisions when deciding which impact measurement tool is best for them.

In promoting best practice we have been able to showcase London’s social enterprises to an international audience including Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Australia, China, and the United States of America.
