This one day session run by Social Enterprise London in partnership with RISE and funded by the Capacitybuilders Income Generation Stream will help you take advantage of current commercial opportunities. It will provide the opportunity to reflect on your organisational situation, vision for the future, learn from and with other civil society organisations, and consider practical steps you can take to enhance your organisational efficiency, effectiveness and sustainability.

The day will be split into three sections:
Strategic planning (am)
•    What is your mission and vision?
•    Who are your stakeholders? What are their needs?
•    What is your desired impact?
•    What activities do you deliver? Should these be continued, discontinued or changed if they are not contributing to your sustainability?
•    Selecting new ideas?

Efficient and effective delivery (am)
•    How can we innovate for greater efficiency and effectiveness?
•    Business Model: do we need to become more enterprising and commercial as an organisation? Do we need to change the internal culture of how we think, work and are governed?
•    Processes: reviewing processes and making them more efficient. Can we do things differently? Can we automate processes to improve speed of delivery? Are there other ways to best use our resources and to eliminate waste?
•    Product:  improving or changing the products and services we deliver. How can we better position ourselves? How can we diversify our customer base?

Financial planning and management (pm)
•    Financial evaluation: where are we? Financial sustainability: what is it and how to achieve it? Profitability, liquidity and solvency.
•    Increasing revenue and reducing costs
•    Cash flow management: how to enhance your cash flows.
•    Option development: continuation, liquidation, selling or restructuring

Who should attend?
This training is aimed at the Chief Executives, directors and senior managers of third sector organisations including CVSs, cooperative and social enterprise bodies, charities and network organisations.
