The report ‘Reducing Re-offending Through Social Enterprise’ identifies that there are considerable opportunities for more social enterprises to work with prisons and probation services. However, it also identifies some barriers including the fact that few people working in prisons and probation services have a clear idea of how to make contact with social enterprises in their area.
Social Enterprise London is hosting an information and action planning workshop for social enterprises looking to work with the National Offender Management Service (NOMS). The event will also be suitable for organisations already working with NOMS wishing to update their knowledge and networks.
The workshop will:
• Help you understand opportunities to work and engage with NOMS
• Assist you in making informed decisions about developing NOMS targeted services or considering NOMS within your business planning
• Allow you to meet key contacts within NOMS and start building productive working relationships.
• Offer you an opportunity to deliver a 2 minute presentation on your service for review and comment by NOMS staff.
We have limited spaces available for SEL Members. The event is free, but full registration details are required to secure a delegate place at the event. If you wish to present your service to NOMS staff please send an email to events@sel.org.uk with a short description of your organisation.
